PPP ex-minister Sharjeel Memon on Saturday said that the PML-N government at the federal level was acting like dictators. He was talking to media persons here outside the court after the hearing of a NAB reference case against him and ten others for being involved in corruption amounting to Rs 5.76 billion. "Nawaz Sharif's approach is no less than that of a dictator," Memon said.

"He hides behind democracy to channel his dictator-like approach," Memon said. He said he had reports of the government brokering a deal to sell Pakistan Steel Mills to Indian businessman Sajjan Jindal. The accountability court, on Saturday, heard the case of billions of rupees of corruption in the Sindh Information Department. The investigation officer presented the report pertaining to the property of on-the-run suspect Anita Baloch.

Memon said that countless documents had been presented in the court but the list of those documents was not made available. He asked for the list to be submitted to the court. During the course of haring, Memon's counsel told the court that documents filled in sacks were presented in the court, but these documents lacked index. He apprehended that NAB might bring in new documents in later stage.

The counsel submitted that Article 10-A of the constitution guaranteed the right to fair trial. He pleaded the court to direct NAB to provide them index of the documents presented by the anti-corruption watchdog. During Saturday's hearing, Investigation Officer presented a report regarding the properties owned by absconding accused in the case, Anita Baloch. Later the court adjourned further hearing of the case till May 13, 2017. The court adjourned the hearing till May 13.
